Write profiles of historical figures as if they were being
featured in this week's newspaper.
- For example, find out what you can about Emily Murphy, the
woman who led the campaign to have Canadian women legally recognized
as "persons" back in 1929. Or look into the life of
Joseph-Armand Bombardier, the Quebec man who invented the snowmobile
in 1922.
- Write a story that explains who the person is, where they
come from, what they do and why we should remember them.
- There are many people from Canada's past who would be interesting
