January 1999

SNN has a new Editor-in-Chief for the winter term! She's Jen Wiebe, a student at Garden Valley Collegiate in Winkler, Manitoba.

Jen is joined by two members of last term's editorial board. Kristina Mellway of Canterbury High School in Ottawa is the new Associate Editor and Geoffrey Legault of Woodlands Public School in Mississauga is the Science and Technology Editor.

New faces on the board include: Amber Zirnhelt of Columneetza Secondary in Williams Lake, British Columbia, Graham Adams of Banded Peak School in Bragg Creek, Alberta, Shawn Gallimore of James M. Hill High School in Miramichi, New Brunswick, and Chelsea Hellings of Holy Trinity Central High in Norman's Cove, Newfoundland.

We're still looking for reporters from Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories.

The role of the board is simple — to be the eyes and ears for SNN in various parts of Canada. We're looking for input and ideas, stories and photos and suggestions on how to make SNN more interesting to young readers.

The editorial board keeps in touch with one another through e-mail but we're trying out some other possibilities — like holding meetings online!

If you'd like to join the board, let us know by sending an e-mail to snn@stemnet.nf.ca
