Top American Bobsledder Suspended For Nine Months
By: Colin Cranford, Crescent Collegiate, Blaketown, NF

Last Wednesday an American bobsledder (Jovanovic) was suspended for nine months. Barred by the U.S. anti-Doping agency. That leaves Jovanovic out of the current Winter Olympics. He was a key factor in the two man and four man U.S. teams. The teams were considered favourites to end an American drought in American bobsledding medal standings.

Jovanovic, of Toms River, N.J. testified that he had used 31 different nutritional supplements. He was tested in December during U.S. Olympic trials. The U.S. Bobsled Team named Steve Mesler as a replacement for Jovanovic.

When will the athletes ever learn that they will not get away with using dope during the Olympics? The athletes' dreams can be thrown away by using something they can live and compete without.
