Media Coverage of the Aftermath of September 11

Last month, we asked you to tell us what you thought of the way the media covered the events of September 11 in the United States. A little over a month after the fact, the Western countries and their allies, led by the United States, have launched a military offensive against the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. The Taliban is harbouring the suspected mastermind of the terrorist attacks, Osama bin Laden.

In addition, the news media are filled with stories of Anthrax spores being sent by mail to newsrooms and private citizens. Some are real, most are hoaxes.

What are your points of view on these? Are the media fanning the flames of fear, or are they duty-bound to report those events as much as possible? What do you think?

Write an opinion article about the media coverage of the aftermath of the attacks or a profile article about the job of a soldier in times of war like these.
