Colonel Hadfield spoke to the students in the auditorium about the Space program and his experiences as an astronaut. He used both slides and video to demonstrate how a spacecraft goes into space, the view of earth from space, his visit to the MIR space station and how astronauts live in space. He also spoke with the students about his upcoming spaceflight in which he will be the first Canadian Astronaut to ‘float free in space'.

Colonel Hadfield's presentation was definitely enjoyed by the students. At least 8 students were able to ask him questions before he had to leave the school for other speaking engagements. Having Colonel Hadfield visit our school was a thrilling experience for both students and staff.

While at our school we were able to talk with Colonel Hadfield and interview him for SchoolNet News Network. Before beginning our interview we spent a couple of minutes with the Colonel talking about our school and having pictures taken with him. It was a tremendous experience for both of us - one that we will never forget. Here is our interview with Colonel Hadfield.
