GVC men's golf team came up one stroke behind arch rivals AMHS and 13 strokes behind the eventual winners of the Zone 4 tournament, Altona.

Despite having home-course advantage, the GVC team only managed a foutth-place finish. This result was better than last year when the team finished sixth. Coach Dowling had these words to say about the team's preparation for the tournament: "Of all teams, this team is one of the best for preparation."

This year's golf team consists of Tim F., Brendan N., Russ F., and newcomers, Dustin P. and Nathan E. Brendan shot the team's low round of the day, firing an 84. The low round of the tournament belonged to Altona's Steve P. who shot a 75.

The course was fairly dry, especially in the rough, on the new nine holes of the golf course. Strong wind made the players use all of their skills to keep their scores down. The greens were very fast and gave the players some difficulties.

The leader of this year's golf team is Tim F. He is one of the three players graduating this year but, according to the coach, there are some good golfers coming up in the younger grades.
