Something to Remember

Presentation Junior High School
Corner Brook, Newfoundland

By Kevin (Grade 7)

On Flanders Field poppies grow
On the graves of fallen soldiers
Who died during these wars
People fought for our freedom of speech
And the freedom to go to school
which we now possess
So......
Wear a poppy on Remembrance Day
To show love and respect
Lift the spirits of those who died
Tell them we respect them

Remembrance Day can be sad
but it can be happy too
For when we wear a poppy
We lift the spirits of those
Who lost loved ones too

Now on Flanders Field
Lie many brave soldiers
That we remember
When we wear a poppy
