MusicFest Canada 2000

From the 16th to the 21st of May, York University in Toronto once again held MusicFest Canada. Invited to this highly known festival were two local groups from Winkler, Manitoba--the "Inversions" and the W.E.S. jazz choir.

MusicFest is an invitational festival by Regional Co-ordinators or Divisional Chairpersons based on the performance level. It is an amazing place for young musicians to learn and to further their knowledge in music.

There were a variety of bands and choirs participating. The adjudicators, clinicians, and concert Artists were advanced professionals from all over Canada.

MusicFest never had a dull moment with the different performances, clinics and workshops to attend. Well-known professional groups such as the Humber College Vocal Jazz Combo, Mantooth/ Houghton Canadian Jazz Orchestra, the Beehive Sings, the Central Band of the Canadian Forces, and others performed in evening concerts, which were really inspirational.

This excellent festival was a great encourager to all of the young musicians attending MusicFest Canada.
