From the 16th to the 21st of May, York University in Toronto
once again held MusicFest Canada. Invited to this highly known
festival were two local groups from Winkler, Manitoba--the "Inversions"
and the W.E.S. jazz choir.
MusicFest is an invitational festival by Regional Co-ordinators
or Divisional Chairpersons based on the performance level. It
is an amazing place for young musicians to learn and to further
their knowledge in music. |

There were a variety of bands and choirs participating. The
adjudicators, clinicians, and concert Artists were advanced professionals
from all over Canada.
MusicFest never had a dull moment with the different performances,
clinics and workshops to attend. Well-known professional groups
such as the Humber College Vocal Jazz Combo, Mantooth/ Houghton
Canadian Jazz Orchestra, the Beehive Sings, the Central Band
of the Canadian Forces, and others performed in evening concerts,
which were really inspirational.
This excellent festival was a great encourager to all of the
young musicians attending MusicFest Canada. |
