Have you ever wanted to spend a week, with 130 students from your country, having fun and seeing the sites of our nation’s capital.

Every school year more than 3000 students participate in Encounters with Canada. The students come from all regions of Canada for a week of fun filled adventures. Kim Sanderson a student from Holden, Alberta says, “ It was a life time experience and I had the time of my life.” Sanderson along with many new friends had a chance to participate in many themes such as Arts and Culture, Science Technology and Sports.

The students also visited Parliament Hill and the Governor General’s House, toured Ottawa and Hull, Quebec. Students also take part in many evening activities such as skits, swimming, line dancing and sports.

Friends are made quickly and at the end of the week say sad good byes. Linda Brunet, Director general Encounters with Canada states, “My mission as Director General of Encounters with Canada is to bring together young Canadians from all walks of life to help them understand their similarities and realize how fortunate they are to live in such a amazing country.”
