CBC Newfoundland and Labrador
Greer visited the school to do a piece on the media program in the school and the school's 'TEEN TV" Program. Teacher Don Tulk and Principal Aurele Beaupre of Roncalli have been very active in bringing journalism into their school. The school has been involved with the SNN Program since its inception in 1996. Their students produce excellent multi-media stories, which include print and broadcast components both for their school, SNN and mainstream media. Their stories focus on issues affecting teenagers and activities happening in their school and their community. Don's students have also participated in STEM~Net's Hook, Line and Net Conferences which focus on intergrating technology into the Newfoundland and Labrador school curriculum.
During the visit it was mentioned to Mr. Greer how different people and organizations are important in Roncalli's success - especially SchoolNet News Network (SNN) and STEM~Net.
