Girl Interrupted
Ms. Jade
BeatClub/Interscope Records

*** ½ / 5

Ms. Jade doesn't have to dress provocatively to get her name up in lights. The female rapper, a natural star has come out with her full-length debut album Girl Interrupted.

"I'm not into the sexual bandwagon. I want somebody to listen to my music because they like it…. I want them to like my music because I'm nice. It's as simple as that. I'm not a copycat," she says.

The first single "Feel the Girl" was produced by Timberland and is filled with smooth vocals. Ms. Jade describes it as "the first little hot song. Tim is doing some crazy stuff in the background. I sound relaxed on the track."

"Why U Tell Me," another track is far from being soft. "You toyed with my teenage years and my womanhood. I hate you, I hope I made it understood," she raps. She is also solid in "She's A Gangsta," and describes the style as "gangsta and cocky."

Ms. Jade's line delivery is amazing and quick in "Ching Ching," which features Canada's very own Nelly Furtado and Timberland. The album is also filled with vocals from Jay-Z, Missy Elliot, and Lil Mo. Guest producers include The Beat Brokerz -- Staxx, Jeremy and Don.

With such an amazing debut album Ms. Jade truly has what it takes to go to the top.
